Why EyesTrain?

Our worklives are increasingly digital. This offers great opportunities, but also presents some challenges.

Our eyes were not made to stare for hours on end at a screen that’s very close. Long screen sessions can cause dry or irritated eyes and even headaches.

The 20-20-20 rule can help greatly reduce these side effects. By looking at an object that is about 20 feet (~6 meters) away for 20 seconds your eyes get some time to rest. Doing to every 20 minutes can greatly reduce eye strain.

More Than Just Eyes

It’s not just our eyes that suffer when we work on our laptop all day. We were not designed to sit still all day and some even call sitting the new smoking.

Do you slouch or sit in the weirdest positions after some intense work? Take a few moments throughout the day to get up and move. Your body will thank you, and it may clear your mind as well.

Gentle Reminders

Remembering to take breaks can be hard when you’re all caught up in work. EyesTrain was built to give subtle break reminders the moments you pick.

It was designed to form better screen habits while inobtrusive and simple to use.
